Do you wanna shave my head?

So.... I made a decision to participate in St. Baldrick's to raise money for children's cancer research. Do you see a theme going here? It is very much in the same vein of the fundraising I did in February for the Cupid's Undie Run.

Here is the low-down:

  • I have an initial goal of $500 and I am set to shave my head on 11/23/2017
  • BUT... if y'all can help me raise $500 by 10/21/2017 - I will shave my head that day at War of the Wings (WotW), AND...
  • if that $500 goal is met by WotW the SCA member that donated the most and that's present at WotW can shave my head (all the pictures and videos they desire), AND...
  • if the goal is not met by 10/21/2017, I will still continue to fundraise and shave my head the morning of 11/23/2017

I have already donated $25 to this wonderful cause - every donation counts, even if it is only $1. Help today and donate just a bit to help fund well needed cancer research - and watch me go bald :)

Just go to my St. Baldrick's page to donate (credit cards and PayPal are accepted) - you can also give me cash and I will send it in to St. Baldrick's. Whichever is best for you.

Thank you in advance for being awesome and giving a few dollars for this great cause!

Viking Research - It has started and is on my website now

My website has been updated to reflect my new persona (my old research and resources for 15th Century German remain on the site). Now there are some very helpful resources regarding burial finds and other interesting resources related to Biking, Viking Rus, Varangian burial finds. Please take a look and see if anything peeks your interest: http://www.gluckliche-eme.com/viking-studies-resources

Congratulations Mistress Cairistiona de Coueran

Master Chirhart shared my words today in court. I wish I could have been there, but life obligations would not allow me to attend Pennsic this year. I wish I could have been there to say this in person and to welcome you to our Order Cairistiona. We have catching up to do when I see you next. For now I will share my words for those that were not present at her elevation ceremony:

Today is a day of mixed blessings. I am deeply sadden that I cannot stand before all of you to speak these words in person, for Baroness Cairistiona de Coueran, she is someone I hold near and dear to my heart. But it brings joy and happiness to my heart that she is being recognized to join our beloved Order, the Order of the Pelican.

Cairistiona is someone that I have always looked to and depended on for assistance and support. She has always offered her assistance to me with a smile in her heart. I was a very new Kingdom Youth Officer, at my first Pennsic, running my first Children’s Fete, in a year where it had to be very special to hold dear Duchess Arielle’s legacy. Cairistiona was there to help me then and in the years to come as we made changes to help make our children safer when they were attending the Fete.

She has always been a go-to person for me. I trust her deeply – because when she says she will get something done - I know it will be done and it will be done right. She has also always been a friend that offers kind words, a smile, and a hug when needed. Cairistiona is a driven, caring, and dedicated asset to our Kingdom and Society.

I charge her to move forward today holding her love for her Kingdom, the Society, and her service. To do so, always, with love and friendship in her heart. To share of herself with others through her service by mentoring and teaching others with a tender guiding hand.

I am sorry that I am not here today to see your elevation in person. But know I look forward to seeing you as the loving and dedicated Peer I know you are. You are my Peer.

With much Love and Friendship,

Meisterin Emeludt Hansler, OP
